ICASA & IPHASA 2021 SUMMARY Pregnant women, children, adolescents and HIV
Dr. Eleanor Namusoke-Magongo presented a summary of the latest science and programmatic learning related to HIV, women, children and adolescents presented at the 21st International Conference on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Africa (ICASA 2021), from 6-11 December 2021, and the 1st International Paediatric HIV and AIDS Symposium in Africa (IPHASA 2021), from 17-18 November 2021.
Dr. Magongo is a paediatrician and currently team lead for paediatrics and adolescent HIV care and treatment at the Ministry of Health, AIDS Control Program, Uganda. In addition to leading the national paediatric and adolescent ART optimization work, she is the founder and chair of IPHASA, a new scientific meeting that will precede every ICASA conference. In addition, Dr. Magongo has initiated and led the coordination of the Paediatric and Adolescent HIV Learning Collaborative (PAHLCA), a forum for HIV programme managers to share best practices and foster south-south evidence-based learning among countries in Africa.
