It will take you about 15 minutes to drive these 10 km in the direction of Kavala and reach Glastres beach.This beach with extremely fine, fine sand is located in Palio or Old Kavala and is one of the two city beaches of this place.This not-so-big beach is mostly the choice of tourists staying in the surrounding villas and apartments, but given the good parking space immediately behind the beach, it is easily accessible for the rest of us.The left part of the beach has an excellent gradual entry into the water, while the right part has rocks immediately after entering the water.The shallows last a long , and the beach is generally very calm, protected from the winds and waves, so families with younger children can enjoy the Glastres beach in peace.In the far left part, there is also natural shade that lasts approximately up to 12 hours.The seabed is perfectly clean, with extremely fine sand, pebbly in places, but there are also a lot of shells in those parts, which is unlimited fun for children.Even if there is no cafe on the beach, it is exceptionally well-maintained, so upon arrival we also found a service that empties these buckets.There are free showers and changing cabins at Glastres Beach.On many beaches around Kavala, the municipality has installed these wooden umbrellas, so if you arrive early, you can take a place under them for free.The beach is also pet friendly.Every beach in this area has a lifeguard house, and this is the first one where we found a lifeguard there.
Two months ago, we visited the second, much larger city beach of Old Kavala, and it's a shame that the place isn't a little more developed or organized differently, because both city beaches are, in my opinion, outstanding.
It was a fantastic 10 days and we didn't expect anything less from Greece. When you connect this video with the road to Nea Iraklitsa you will get even more beaches to visit. The combination of small, medium and large places - Iraklitsa, Peramos and Kavala - proved to be excellent for satisfying different desires and expectations from vacations, so that Nea Peramos justified all our expectations. Another quick excursion and shopping in Thessaloniki awaits us on the way back home as icing on this very tasty cake.
