3. It gives us the ability to build something we own. (like an email list)

As affiliate marketers the use of sales funnels helps us send people through a small systematic series of webpages that slowly edges the user into buying the product we are pitching.

The goal is to first capture the user data like an email or get them onto a push list so that we can continue marketing to them well into the future.
