Tanning A Beaver Hide Start To Finish

So, as part of the trapping playlist here on In The Woods With Wolfie, I'll be sharing my DIY.How To videos on Hide Tanning. No not on spanking yer kids lol
This Episode is on tanning a beaver hide to be used as a wall hanging decoration. They can be finished with or without a decorative hoop. With or Without a backing on them. I normally put the felt backing on, unless requested by the customer not to. And only do bigger hides by request, pre-finished items are always lrg/med hides.
The process can take up to 7 to 10 days to complete, depending on the end results you're after when softening the hide. On average i spend 8 days on each hide and tend to work on 2 or 3 at a time to keep everything in the same stage of the process and to keep my mind from going kaboom! lol
The process seems long but at only a half hour to an hour a day, it goes pretty quick and you have an amazing decoration for on your wall that you can show off to your friends/family.
