Have you ever wondered why you shouldn't look directly at a solar eclipse?

Founded in 1908, Prevent Blindness is the nation's leading volunteer eye health and safety organization dedicated to fighting blindness and saving sight. Their team invited The Storyteller Studios to work with them to create this educational video about solar eclipses. Former astronaut Mike Massimino, medical retina specialist Dr. Amy Babiuch, and former NASA physicist Dr. Rafat Ansari discuss how to safely watch solar eclipses by wearing the proper protective eyewear.

An annular solar eclipse, often described as a “ring of fire” will be visible from parts of the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. all the way to the Gulf of Mexico on October 14, 2023.
