Christopher Reeve went on to try and make things work with ex-girlfriend Gae Exton, while Jane went on to marry third husband David Flynn and have a child of her own. Christopher and Gae’s first child was a son by the name of Matthew, and they had one more before separating in 1987. Their second child was daughter Alexandra. Following Christopher’s separation from Gae, whom he never married, he went on to marry his first and only wife Dana in 1992.
Christopher and Dana Reeve had one son together before Christopher’s tragic 1995 horseback-riding accident that caused the actor to become paralyzed from the neck down. Upon learning about the accident, Jane Seymour was devastated. She was pregnant at the time with her and fourth husband Stacy Keach’s first child, and she went on to name that child Kristopher in honor of her former lover.
Christopher and Jane remained lifelong friends after the filming of Somewhere in Time, even if their romance wasn’t meant to be. Today, Jane can barely watch the film without crying, especially in the wake of Christopher’s 2004 passing.
