What Punishment Will Trump’s Attacker Face Under Federal Law
A heavily armed lone wolf attacker stormed the security checkpoint at the White House Correspondents Dinner at the Washington Hilton in Washington DC. The suspect carrying multiple guns and knives charged aggressively toward the ballroom where President Donald Trump was speaking but was stopped when Secret Service agents opened fire and swiftly took him into custody before he could reach the stage. One officer was shot during the intense confrontation yet saved by his bulletproof vest and remains in stable condition. Trump was immediately rushed off stage to safety unharmed along with other protectees. In a later press conference the president called the incident a despicable assassination attempt by a very sick lone wolf while praising the quick thinking and bravery of law enforcement. The suspect is now in federal custody as authorities continue investigating this shocking attack at the high profile journalists dinner.
