"KEI cars" (軽自動車, Kei jidōsha) are a special category of small vehicles in Japan designed to comply with government regulations on size, engine displacement, and power output. They're extremely popular due to their affordability, fuel efficiency, and the perks they offer in Japan's urban environments.
