The Industrial Revolution gave us many amazing innovations and it gave us the linear economy. Today we feel the affects of this economy every day from environmental damage, to human exploitation of wealth. In a linear business the only way to make more revenue is to make more things, this is unsustainable. The world is completely dependant on a thriving economy, so why not create an economy that enriches people and the planet? Where we take an ecosystem approach to how we build and manage our businesses of the future. We look to nature where there is success. And that success is circular. Nicole Bassett is the co-founder of The Renewal Workshop, a circular business that is leading the apparel and textile industry towards circular business models restoring value and reducing waste. Prior, Nicole has applied her passion for environmental responsibility and human rights in consumer products. She has served as Director of Sustainability for prAna, Social Responsibility at Patagonia and Head of Human Rights at Specialized Bicycles. Nicole received her Master’s in Environmental Studies with a focus on Business Strategy and Sustainability from York University in Toronto, Canada.
