Chandigarh – The ongoing water-sharing conflict between Haryana and Punjab has intensified. In a sharp rebuke, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini accused Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann of politicizing a sensitive issue — the state's drinking water supply.

Addressing a press conference, CM Saini clarified that the dispute is not about the Satluj Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal, but about Haryana's rightful share of drinking water, which remains under the Supreme Court’s supervision. He expressed concern over Haryana receiving only 4,000 cusecs of water, approximately 60% of its required supply, warning that Delhi’s water supply could also be impacted if the issue persists.

In a bold statement, CM Saini said if water isn't distributed fairly, “It will flow to Pakistan, not Haryana.” He also alleged political motives, claiming CM Mann was unconcerned when the AAP ruled Delhi, but now seeks to "punish" its people following AAP’s electoral losses.
