Health insurance: the holy grail of the US hospital patient. While it isn’t perfect, it does often make a big difference in a patient’s bottom line. That’s not only because it helps pay the bills - it turns out that when you don’t have health insurance, you might get a bigger bill from the hospital in the first place. Makes perfect sense, right?
