A an alternate backstory;
Before they were ace negotiator & ruthless kidnapper, Ha Chae Yoon and Min Tae Gu, respectively, were married. They separated once TG became affiliated with the mafia. HCY, working for the police, could not let her morals slide. So they both went their separate ways. She still loved him& so did he but the greed for power blinded TG.

After 3 years, HCY is called in to negotiate with a daunting hostage-taker who she is no stranger to. HCY tries to talk to him but the memories are too much. Personal feelings, buried secrets from the past resurface. Hours go by with MTG finally confessing that he was wrong and that he has brought her so much shame. At the same time, he is also angry at himself for what he has done. HCY watches him pick his gun from the monitor Frightened, she knows what he is about to do.

Without a care in the world, she runs towards the building where he is bound to be, strapped in an explosive jacket. She sees his face one last time before he points the gun at her in anger. With the Seoul Police hovering over the building like hawks, they mistake his actions for a fight— hence, shooting him in the head then and there. HCY lies on the bloodied floor, cradling his face as she cries. She still loved him, after all, didn't she?
