Anyhoo, now that that’s dealt with, I can finally explain this picture! You see, I was feeling very nostalgic one day, so I decided I would revisit one of my childhood favourites: Strawberry Shortcake. And watching the 2005 version again made me wonder: what might this have looked like—all these kids living in this magical land together—in semi-real life? And thus, this image was born. I just imagined how they all might spend a warm summer afternoon. It’s a very relaxing picture, filled with all the warmest memories from my own life that I could muster.
