The Freikorps: Paramilitary Troops in Weimar Germany after WW1
The Freikorps (freecorps) were paramilitary units that existed in post-WW1 Germany during the early years of the Weimar Republic. The crushed communist rebellions in Weimar Germany such as the Spartacist Uprising, took down the Bavarian Soviet Republic and faced the Red Ruhr Army. Apart from interwar Germany these free corps also fought in Poland (during the Greater Poland Uprising and Silesian Uprisings) and in the Baltic Wars of Independence. Who were the men in these Freikorps? Where did they come from? Where did they fight? All these questions will be answered in this video, where we're going to discuss an interesting army formation: the Freikorps.
