Thank you for watching our Jeep Grand Cherokee front bumper cover removal video. Jeeps are a very reliable vehicle, so treat it right and learn how to do this simple replacement job with us. This is a very standard removal job that only requires a few tools. There are quite a few sub-models for the Grand Cherokee and this would apply to the Overland, Limited, and Laredo. What we are removing is essentially the top part of the bumper with the lower textured piece attached. We'll show you how to install the new bumper and accessories in our next video. This is a super easy removal and we really love how Jeep put this bumper together. It may be a bit complicated on the install but the removal is very quick.

TOOLS NEEDED:
You will need a 10mm socket or impact gun for the bolt on the wheel well. You will need a drill or an exacto knife to remove the plastic rivets. Lastly, you will need a panel clip removal tool or a flat-head screwdriver

PROCESS:
As we mentioned before, the removal process is a breeze. The lower bumper is secured by plastic tabs you twist off. Normally, there are plastic push-pins or bolts down there but made it easier. We like to start with the bottom because if we do it last, there is a chance the bumper may fall on our face. Once we loosen the bottom bumper, we made our way to the fender liners. The fender liners can seem like a hard task, but if you know what you are doing, it's easy. There are plastic rivets that secure the liner and bumper together. The main way to remove the rivets is by drilling the center of the rivet. If the rivets were metal, your only option would be to drill it out, but these are made of plastic so we just cut them instead. This will save you a lot of time and it is much easier and affordable to just replace those rivets. Next, there is a bolt located on the corner of the bumper, remove that with your 10mm wrench or impact gun. Once everything is off, you can pull the fender flare out or off the bumper ends. You do not have to completely remove the fender flares, you can let them hang onto the fender. You should be able to pop the corners of the bumper off with enough space. Lastly, we disconnected the top of the bumper from the frame by removing the plastic clips. Before you dismount the bumper, unplug the fog lights from the wire harness. You do not want to tear or put any strain on the wire harness. Once the fog lights are disconnected or the bulbs pulled out, you can remove the bumper cover.
