Music Bio:
ALEKSANDRA SAPOK is the leading young Polish classical guitarist who is currently taking Europe by storm. She graduated at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, Poland from the class of Prof. Ryszard Balauszko. Sapok has played guitar for 22 years, during which time she has achieved notable success in over twenty international competitions and made numerous international concert appearances.
She has performed on several occasions with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Rybnik, conducted by Miroslaw Jacek Blaszczyk, on Polish Radio at the Witold Lutoslawski Concert Studio in Warsaw, and a number of times in the Royal Lazienki Museum in Warsaw.
Sapok has been invited to play solo recitals across Europe at such events as the International Guitar Festival in Energodar (Ukraine)- where she was also a member of the jury during the competition – and of course, here at Hellys.
She has had the opportunity of working with some of the most famous virtuosi such as Roland Dyens, Odair Assad, Paul Galbraith, Marcin Dylla, Andrew York and Ben Salfield. She has had masterclasses and studied with the great guitarist Spanish Francisco Bernier at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica Manuel Castillo in Sevilla, under the Erasmus programme. During that time she played a concert at the very famous and prestigious Real Alcazar Palace in Sevilla.
Sapok has been honoured with scholarships from the Ministry of Culture, the president of Rybnik, the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship and The Alex L Johnson Educational Scholarship.
Her plans for 2024 include concert appearances across Europe as well as in North America.
