Texas WWII fighter Ace - Incredible Life Story
Neel E. Kearby became an American hero and fighter ace
during World War II.
Piloting the single engine P-47 in a style he helped define, Kearby made history on October 11, 1943 when he singlehandedly shot down six Japanese aircraft in one engagement. His outstanding heroics and airmanship that day resulted in his being awarded the Medal of Honor.
