Pututu (Chavin & Cusco – Vibration of the Andes)
This is a first video compilation about this pre-Columbian musical instrument called in Quechua as “Pututu”, summing up some experiences in Chavin and Cusco, which helped the investigation and study of this millenary instrument in 2016.

Thanks to science, acoustics and archaeology, it was possible to identify several acoustic techniques used by different ancestral cultures of the world, mainly from pre-Columbian cultures of Peru.

The Pututu is a pre-Columbian Musical Instrument from Chavin, a 3000 years old Peruvian culture, located in the heart of the Andes, next to the Cordillera Blanca (or “white range”), in Ancash region. It is made from a seashell or conch from the sea of Ecuador. The scientific name is Strombus Galeatus and has acoustics properties similar to modern acoustic therapeutic techniques such as the Binaural Beats and low frequencies. In the last decades, more properties of sound have been discovered, demonstrating the powerful effect in the matter therefore in humans. This will be explained in a next video with more details.
