WATCH A PONY BEING BORN!

Clanfair Confetti gave birth to a beautiful healthy colt at 12:05 PM. She is a "maiden" mare, meaning this is her first baby. She did tear her vulva during delivery. (The bleeding you see during delivery is from these tears.) A vet was called. Confetti was examined by a reproductive vet the next day as she foaled on a Sunday. The tears were determined to be minor. Mom and baby were both healthy and doing good!
You did such a great job, Confetti!!

The "golden slippers" are the protective coating on a foal's hooves in-utero. They dehydrate and fall off immediately post-delivery.
