Global Donut Day - An introduction to Doughnut Economics (#2) [Portugese]
“Twenty-first century economics will be practised first and theorised later” - Kate Raworth
At the heart of Doughnut Economics are ‘seven ways to think like a 21st century economist’ - seven big principles and approaches that we at DEAL believe can help to equip us all with the mindset, skills and direction to create a world that thrives within the Doughnut.
But even though Doughnut Economics began life as a book, it’s clear to us that the real lessons and insights are emerging as many pioneers and practitioners - in the DEAL Community and far beyond - seek to turn the ideas of Doughnut Economics into practice, in classrooms and boardrooms, in townhalls and town centres.
In this session Kate Raworth, creator of the Doughnut and author of the 2017 book Doughnut Economics, will give a swift introduction to many of these seven ways to think, and then invite everyone in the session to join small breakout conversations to reflect together on ‘’What are we learning as we seek to put these concepts into practice, in our many different contexts?’
After these small-group discussions we will return to plenary, bringing our collective insights, along with some questions for Kate to respond to and reflect upon.
Alternate versions of this video are available with English audio, or with British Sign Language interpretation in the following playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nPa2qjvScM&list=PL0GL611hRRm9I0bYWH1Yk4p14QtyOOtle
