Tempo mapping rubato orchestral pieces in Reaper
Sometimes you want to create a tempo map from a source that's not been conveniently recorded to a click or lacks that useful snare to produce a transient easily spotted in the waveform. You may be facing an expressive performance that ebbs and flows, making a mess of the tempo map.
In this video I demonstrate one way to map the tempo of these types of pieces. I use a Stream Deck (https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/stream-deck) to quickly send the shortcuts for the various actions used to create the map.
