Alaskan Cruise vs. Overlanding

5-31-18: It's been a few days since I returned from a 7day/7night Alaskan Cruise. I had an unforgettable time, and the beauty I saw could not be unseen. It was a full week of sin, as I indulged in the buffets at least 3 times per day, packing on about 20 lbs, and temporarily turning into a mini JabatheHut at 260 lbs. The life of gluttony was fun, but I was glad once it was over.

... And that's just it. Trying to compare an Alaskan Cruise and Overlanding. to Car Camping is like comparing Apples to Oranges. I concluded that a cruise is a vacation,... it's a temporary escape, it's okay to get drunk, it's okay to over eat.

Car camping and adventuring is a lifestyle of "escaping the norms of city living"... being at peace and enjoying the outdoors. There's so much fun to be had away from your living room couch, away from your friends living room couch! Take that friend, get out to the mountains, and find someplace to go cliff diving. Weeeee! Fun!
