African American Vernacular English | Morgan Gill | TEDxYouth@RMSST

Morgan touches on the origin of African American Vernacular English (AAVE) and the biases people have toward people who use it. She compares AAVE's structure to the accepted English language and breaks down its meaning in different contexts. I am a student researcher at Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology, a self-proclaimed book-lover, Oxford comma enthusiast, and avid Jeopardy player, with a passion for knowing everything about everything. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
