2009 Panasonic 12" Ventilating Fan
Here's my Panasonic ventilating fan, model FV-30RUN3. It's been on my wishlist since I was 5. I thought I'd lost the chance to get a brand new one as it was facelifted years ago, but out of the blue, I found an ad listing a new in box Panasonic 30RUN3 for half the price of a 30RUN5(the facelifted model), not wanting to miss the chance, I swooped it up, and here it is now installed in my shop to replace my Panasonic FV-40AFU.
This fan still has the 6 pole motor from the National 30RUN, and Panasonic 30RUN1, which has a set of bushings, whereas the later RUN3 uses a set of bearings. Panasonic's RUN5 also has a set of bearings on their motors, but the stator has 8 poles, and the motor size itself is an inch smaller than the one on my RUN3.
For those of you who are asking why I replaced my industrial exhaust fan with this, it's because the shutters on the 16" Panasonic has a lot of air gaps letting the outside air in, making my low watt AC work even harder to cool the room. This fan moves about half as much air as the 16" industrial one, but what the 16" industrial lacks is an intake mode, which is what this fan has, although it doesn't move as much air as in exhaust mode, and it makes a bit more noise, it's still a good feature to have.
