Replacing Car Battery With Ultracapacitors - Suburban 2013 - Maxwell BoostCaps / Super Capacitors

I have been using in array of Maxwell Ultra capacitors (also called boost-caps, also called super capacitors) to start our family car for the last 4 to 6 months. It is a 2013 Suburban.
I replaced my car battery with them because I had them lying around I had been thinking about using their amazing short circuit current to make a rail gun but I hadn’t gotten around to that so I decided to put them to good use in my Suburban.
It’s a homemade job.

17:21 - Jumping an ultra-cap car "battery" is about the same as jumping a normal battery. (Only difference is the capacitor array will recharge a lot faster).

In the video, I show The capacitor array, I talk about and show some of the calculations you might need, I show the solar panel that keeps it charged up and show the regulator that I use.
I also show jumping your car with using a capacitor array for a car battery, it’s pretty much the same as when you’re using a car battery except for the capacitor will recharge a lot faster so you don’t have to wait very long to start your car, like in some cases when you’re jumping your car and your lead-acid car battery can’t hold very much charge and it doesn’t charge very well and it needs to charge for a while before it will even start your car.
