Electric vehicles seem to be the solution, to some of the world’s environmental-related problems, they cut carbon emissions by being fully electric, and will eventually become cheaper to operate, and, maintain than their gas-guzzling counterparts. However, people may still find it difficult to buy an E V, due to worries like not having the possibility to charge them at home or work, or not having enough time to charge them at public charging stations.

A possible solution to this, would be to consider using solar cells or solar panels, as a charging alternative for EVs. Solar cells seem to be one of the best last-mile solutions, for providing extra energy for reaching home or the nearest charging station. And the Sun is an inexhaustible source of energy.

Although solar cells seem like a great charging alternative, there are still many limitations that has caused the technology, to not be widespread yet.

And a big one is efficiency. The efficiency of a solar panel, directly depends on a variety of conditions that have to be just right to nail it. Such as, proper placement, dirt and dust, or the time of day, as it directly influences the amount of sunlight available to be converted to electricity. Meaning your E V won't charge at night. This has significantly reduced the adoption of solar panels as a charging solution for Evs.
