LA GRACIOSA. The treasure of the Canary Islands

La Graciosa Island is just 25 minutes by ferry from the port of Orzola, in Lanzarote. It's part of the Natural Park Archipelago of Chinijo. In 2018 it was officially declared the 8th inhabited Canary Island. All its 700 inhabitants live in the capital, Caleta de Sebo. No private cars are allowed on the island. There are only a few taxi licenses which serve tourists. And some bicycle shops where you can rent a bike. No paved roads, only sandy streets.

La Graciosa is a protected natural territory. You will find here some of the best wild beaches in the Canary Islands. With no tourism infrastructure. Playa de Las Conchas is a fabulous spot, between sand dunes and volcanic landscape, with its crystal clear waters with shades of green and turquoise. It's an oasis of tranquility and relaxation where you breathe only nature.

Caleta de Sebo was a small fishing village. Now is the capital of the island
But the time seems to have stood still. It's a place that invites you to forget about civilization. It's such an authentic spot, with this small white houses, all of them with blue or green doors and windows... with people on bikes
and wide sandy streets. There are no hotels. Only around 50 accommodations where you can spend the night. And a camping area.

La Graciosa has gained UNESCO World Heritage status. It's part of the largest protected marine area of Europe. UNESCO says the region is “an authentic outdoor museum”. 💚🌍
