You Have and Always Will || Lyric Video

|| Inspiration ||

You Have and Always Will was born out of reflection on the book of Ruth. Ruth’s commitment to Naomi, her mother-in-law, and God’s care of these two widows through Boaz’s faithful application of the Torah reveal God’s faithfulness. In the story of Ruth and Naomi, we see that God’s care reaches those who are vulnerable, broken, grieving, and lost. Redemption is one of the central concepts in the book of Ruth. The story of Ruth and Boaz reveals that God’s purpose is always to redeem and restore.

The song was written as an affirmation of God’s character. He doesn’t change. The picture of redemption we see in the book of Ruth finds its ultimate fulfillment in the person and work of Christ. And God is still working to redeem and restore all those who are wandering, broken, lonely, and grieving. Our desire is that this song would inspire renewed hope in the God of hope in the midst of the struggles of life.

|| Lyrics ||

From the wilderness, You brought me home again
You have and always will
From the lowly pit You hold me up again
You have and always will
You have and always will

You give hope
(You have and always will)
You redeem
(You have and always will)
You change hearts
(You have and always will)
You breathe life
(You have and always will, You have and always will)

In my loneliness, You come to me again You have and always will
In my brokenness, Your kindness drew me in You have and always will

Remind my soul You are my daily bread You have and always will
You revive my soul with every word You said You have and always will

Your faithfulness sustains what You begin It has and always will
Your faithfulness keeps us in Your hands It has and always will
