THE BATTLE OF NEW ORLEANS-A MEANINGFUL VICTORY

January 8, 2015 marked the 200th anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans, a significant yet misunderstood victory by American forces, led by General Andrew Jackson, over the invading British military. The one hour documentary THE BATTLE OF NEW ORLEANS: A MEANINGFUL VICTORY, enlists the expertise and knowledge of numerous historians to relate the events leading up to the Battle and to describe the importance of its outcome to the expansion of a young America, guiding the country to its destiny of strength and influence. The documentary is a new production done to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans. It served as an introduction to the WYES multi-year project recognizing the approaching tricentennial of the city of New Orleans which was founded in 1718. Co-produced and hosted by Tom Gregrory and Marcia Kavanaugh.
