How to Pass a Section 8 Inspection

Here are a few things that Section 8 might require before passing an inspection on a rental property:

1. Windows must open and close
2. You might be asked to put screens on your windows.
3. If you have bars on your windows, all bedrooms must still have a point of egress.
4. You might be required to put GFCI outlets in bathrooms and kitchens. You might also have to replace two pronged outlets with GFCI outlets that are marked as non grounding plugs.
4. Water heaters must be in a closet.
5. Water heaters must have a discharge pipe connected to the pressure relief valve.
6. All Appliances must work.
7. Vent-A-Hood filters must be installed and in a clean and working condition.
8. All roof leaks must be fixed.
9. Structure must protect from the elements.
10. Excessive floor damage will require repairs.
