Anne Shelton - Don't Leave Me Now

Anne Shelton enjoyed one of the longest and most successful singing careers. Her first recording was in 1936 - only just in her teens. She became a household name during the war when she was heard on radio with Glenn Miller's Orchestra, duetting with Bing Crosby, and also on her own BBC series - 'Introducing Anne' and later 'Calling Malta'. During the war she also made one of her most famous records - 'Lili Marlene', and she would continue to be one of the UK's top recording artists throughout the 1940s, 1950s, and into the 1960s when she scored a Top 10 hit with 'Sailor'. The song presented here is 'Don't Leave Me Now', which she had released as a single in 1954, although this TV performance was first seen in the 1960s.
