In Episode 9 of The Devil Judge, Kim Ga-on officially decides to align himself with Kang Yo-han after completely losing faith in the corrupt legal system, moving away from his mentor Justice Min's traditional views. Meanwhile, tensions flare when Yo-han's niece, Elijah, finds herself caught in a dangerous situation involving the violent vigilante group "Jukchang TV," forcing Yo-han to step in and aggressively choke the leader until Detective Yoon Soo-hyun stops him at gunpoint. Sensing that the powerful Jung Sun-ah is pull-stringing these radical groups from behind the scenes, Yo-han retaliates politically by subtly ordering a leak of Sun-ah's secretive past as a former maid in his own household. By the end of the episode, Yo-han and Ga-on manage to successfully track down and confront Do Young-choon—the swindler who destroyed Ga-on's family—leaving Ga-on deeply conflicted and fiercely contemplating personal, illegal revenge.
