Girondins de Bordeaux was founded in 1 October 1881.
And have won 6 Division 1/Ligue 1 titles, 4 Coupe de France titles, three Coupe de Ligue titles and three Throphee des Champions titles as well.
Bordeaux reached the UEFA Cup final in 1996, but lost to Bayern Münich with 0-2 away and 1-3 at home.
Their home ground is since 2015, the Matmut Atlantique.

After the 20021/22 season, the club was relegated to the Ligue 2 for the first time since the 1990/91 season.

They have now assigned Frank Lampard, the former English and Chelsea player as their new Manager, and we will follow him in this series and see if
he can bring this old club back to be one of the best in France again.
