Pre Code Hollywood

A fun array of short clips from pre-code Hollywood films. Because many have asked, the music underscoring the montage at the end is "That's the Rhythm of the Day", from DANCING LADY (1934). Also, many have asked why I left out the typical flirting with nudity of the era. There's a link to a separate video about that at the end of this video. My big faux pas is that I mislabeled a clip from SAFE IN HELL from 1931 as MIDNIGHT MARY. The pretty actress on the phone is Dorothy Mackaill who came out of the Ziegfeld Follies to make silent pictures and kept in the game through 1937 before retiring. She re-emerged in 1976 to appear twice on HAWAII FIVE-0.
