Most of the time this should be done at around 150 000 km - 200 000 km, including the timing chains, oil pump and the conrod bearings. Some people going to say that this is overkill, but the owners that have suffered from spun out bearings, know how expensive this saving can be. This video will be complete DIY, step-by-step, how to change them and what you need to test, before for changing these bearings on your BMW N57 / N47 engine (main bearing bore, crankshaft tunnel alignment, crankshaft journals, main bearing clearance, crankshaft runout, crankshaft axial play) .
