What About The Time When Earth Turned Purple

Long, long ago, Earth rocked a stylish purple look! This happened around 2.4 billion years ago during a period called the Great Oxidation Event. Earth's oceans were full of iron, and tiny purple microbes, called cyanobacteria, were ruling the scene. They were pretty much the pioneers of photosynthesis, using sunlight to create energy and pumping out oxygen as a byproduct.
