The Little Lamb I Couldn't Fix.

This one was tough…
On the farm, its hard not to become too attached to my animals. They become an extension of my family. I see them daily, feed them, and if they are sick… nurse them back to health.

But sometimes…
It’s out of my hands.

This little lamb was born with severe deformed front legs.
I’ve fixed bent tendons on newborn lambs in the past successfully using splints to help straighten and strengthen their legs, but this one was not her tendons… it was her bones.
And keeping her, would have been a life of pain as she grew bigger.

Not even surgery would fix her.
And that was a hard pill for me to swallow.

Sometimes, this job is hard.
Today was a hard day.
