MG3 wont start & dead instrument cluster, what causes it?

A fault on a MG3 Which I've seen seeral times now so my guess this is pretty common. Worn door seals (usually) cause water to leak into the rear footwell. The DC/DC converter lives under the passengers seat, once enough water gets in, the DC/DC converter gets flooded and shorts out causing the car to not crank, there will also be no instruments, radio or heater, although some other functions will still work such as electric windows and central locking.
