The End Of Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL): A Loss For Plane Spotters And Travelers?

The end has finally come for Berlin Tegel Airport. On November 8, after 46 years, the last plane took off from the old Berlin airport, that closed its gates for good. The new BER will be left as the German capital’s sole airport.

Berlin Tegel Airport was popular with both Berliners and international travelers for its simple infrastructure, with short distances to its gates. Plane spotters appreciated the great variety of planes arriving there, including many government aircraft. What’s more, the location offered photographers excellent images, with the airport building directly in the background. All of that is history now.

Note: At 01:09 we've made a mistake, falsely showing an A320 airplane instead of the 747. Sorry about that!
