Carp Fishing Australia: Soft Plastics

A Sunday session chasing carp on soft plastics. Landed 6 and missed 3-4 strikes. The key this morning was getting the plastic right in their face, as they wouldn't move more than 50cm or so to pick it up (other days they will spot it from a distance and come over).

Gear:
- 2-5 kg rod
- 10lb braided mainline
- 10lb fluorocarbon leader
- Squidgie wriggler 65mm rigged on 1/50 oz jighead
- Lure scent (S factor or Dizzy's lure scent)

Technique:
- Walk the banks slowly until you spot a carp.
- Try to place the plastic about 50cm in front of the fish. If this gets no response, give the plastic a few small hops about 15-20cm off the bottom in front of the fish.
- Wait until you see the fish suck up the plastic (or if you can't see the lure, when you see your line move) then strike and hang on!
