Conquering Steel Bender: Surviving Another Extreme Off-Road Trail in Moab, Utah

Shane, Darcie, and their group of off-road friends had been eagerly anticipating their trip to Moab, Utah to tackle the infamous Steel Bender trail. The group was well-prepared, with two Jeeps equipped with heavy-duty modifications, including on TJ with metal cloak armor and 37 and another TJ buggy with 42-inch tires, as well as a Ford Ranger Buggy on 42s, and a couple more rubicon’s on 35s. However, as it turned out, the trail was relatively easy, with only one section proving to be a challenge: the notorious Waterfall.

Darcie was particularly unhappy to discover that they would have to tackle the Waterfall section of the trail. The prospect of navigating such a difficult obstacle had her cursing about it. Nonetheless, the group was determined to push through, and with their advanced equipment and experience, they were confident that they could make it.

The first few miles of the trail proved to be relatively simple, with no major challenges to speak of. The group was able to make steady progress as they navigated the rocky terrain and tight sections. However, as they approached the Waterfall, the watched a group come down it and Darcie's anxiety became palpable. The tension building as each group member calculated how easy it could be to roll off the waterfall and over a cliff.

The Waterfall is a steep and rocky incline that requires precise driving and careful tire placement to make it up successfully. The group knew that this would be the most challenging section of the trail, and they were prepared to take it slow and steady.

Clayton's Ford Ranger Buggy on 42s took the lead, followed closely by Shane’s Jeep TJ with 42 inch BFG Red Label Sticky tires. Darcie's metal cloak armored Jeep TJ on 37s brought up the rear, along with the other two Rubicons driven by Jer and Jack.

As they approached the Waterfall, the group could feel the adrenaline pumping. Darcie was cursing under her breath, but she was determined to make it up. The group's spotter gave them the go-ahead, and they began their ascent.

Clayton's Ford Ranger Buggy with its powerful engine and oversized tires propelling it up the incline with ease. The Jeep TJ with the 42-inch tires made it up the Waterfall with ease, its massive tires gripping the rocks and pulling it up the steep incline effortlessly. Darcie's Jeep TJ on 37s followed closely behind, its metal cloak armor protecting it from the rocks and bumps along the way while also being winched. The other two four door rubicons made it up without too much trouble!

In the end, the group made it up the Waterfall successfully! Although the rest of the trail proved to be relatively easy, the group was still buzzing with excitement from their triumph over the Waterfall. They knew that they had accomplished something special, and the memories of their adventure on the Steel Bender trail would stay with them for a lifetime.
