Johann Brauchart - Spherical Fibonacci Points: Weyl sums, ...

This talk was part of the workshop on "Optimal Point Configurations on Manifolds" held at the ESI January 10 to 21, 2022.

A Fibonacci lattice point set in the unit square is mapped to the unit sphere in $\mathbb{R}^3$ using an area-preserving Lambert transformation. For this explicit construction we study Weyl sums with respect to Legendre polynomials.
