Apparently, Void had ordered for him to be captured so he could be brought back to the Darkness as Corruption Steve. Not only did Corruption Steve return, but also Soul Steve. How you may ask? Well, Void had recently captured a Blue Steve, and Blue Steve gave in quite quickly to become Soul Steve. A Demon Steve had tried to free Rosie's Time and Elemental, but it didn't work out, and their reality was warped so they would forget ever seeing the Demon Steves.
