She is interested in shaking up the boat by choosing a theme and exploring that through poetry and music. This concert season, she explores her Asian and American roots through music.

"'In this recital, I present them all equally. A song by Zubaida Azezi and Edo Frenkel, in the Uyghur language, is right next to works by Brahms and Ives. There are also two World Premieres by composers Alex Ho and Huang Ruo."
