White's MP Sherman service boot: six month review (read bio)

Been a while since my last video. I'll be posting some more reviews in the near future, keep your eyes peeled since I'll have some cool stuff to share (Meermin, Sagara, Red Wing, Thursday, etc). Maybe one of these days I'll invest in a decent recording setup. ;)

MAKEUP SPECS:
-Cinnamon waxed flesh
-Unstructured toe
-Antiqued copper eyelets
-Dainite outsole

CONS:
-Difficult break-in period. "White's Bite" is real, y'all. Can be painfully tight on instep first month or so, gap lace to mitigate the discomfort.
-Occasional loose thread, nothing major.
-No channel grooving on sole, so the outsole stitching is exposed. Shouldn't pose too much of an issue, and can always be addressed with my next resole.

SIZING:
-Half to full size down from Brannock. I'm a 9.5D and sized down to an 8.5D since I prefer a closer fit. Baker's is incredibly helpful if you have any sizing concerns.
-Toe box is pretty low volume and may not work for everyone- bear that in mind! Thankfully these can also be built on the 55 last instead of the MP last if you opt for a custom build through Baker's (URL in link section below).

VERDICT: Phenomenal boots, and a step up from Red Wing in terms of quality and build- worth the price if you're looking to upgrade. White's is legendary for a good reason.

Here's some info I lifted from their website about the MP and the 55 last:

THE MP LAST:
The MP Last is a true dress shoe last with a long pedigree and a classic silhouette. Used exclusively in our lifestyle collection, the MP boasts a refined profile based on the legendary Barrie last, with a flatter arch, a shallow toe-box, and a wide ball-area, which provides an elegant balance to the traditional block dress heel. Despite the relatively low arch, we’ve still accommodated a thick, all leather shank to provide our trademark comfort. We guarantee you won’t find a more comfortable dress shoe on the market.

55:
Our second most popular last, and our fourth official “Arch-Ease” last, the 55 doesn’t have a name like its siblings. Put simply, it is so uniquely comfortable it has never needed one to stand out from the pack. Introduced over 30 years ago, this last found its home in our offerings right away as a slightly lower arched alternative to the 4811, with a roomier toebox. For those interested in a boot that fits a little less tightly for weekend wear, the 55 last delivers our trademark support and comfort without the severe break in associated with a truly high arch.
