En esta ocasión os queremos mostrar una de las aves más llamativas de Costa Rica, el Tucán Pico Castaño, Dios te dé o Gran curré negro (Ramphastos ambiguus). Esta especie se distribuye desde Honduras hasta la zona occidental de Ecuador. En Costa Rica, lo podemos encontrar en Pacífico Central y Sur, Zona Norte, Valle Central, Caribe Norte y Sur. Vive en el dosel arbóreo de bosques húmedos y áreas parcialmente despejadas, donde se alimenta principalmente de frutos. Esta especie suele construir sus nidos aprovechando cavidades creadas por pájaros carpinteros en los árboles, donde sacan adelante a sus pollos.
Se trata de la segunda especie de tucán de mayor tamaño.

This time we want to show you one of the most striking birds in Costa Rica, the Brown-billed Toucan, Dios te dé or Great black curre (Ramphastos ambiguus). This species is distributed from Honduras to western Ecuador. In Costa Rica, we can find it in the Central and South Pacific, North Zone, Central Valley, North and South Caribbean. It lives in the arboreal canopy of humid forests and partially cleared areas, where it mainly feeds on fruits. This species usually builds their nests taking advantage of cavities created by woodpeckers in the trees, where they raise their chickens.
It is the second largest toucan species.
