System 3R Wire EDM Macro Chuck Mounting with Q & A for 3R Tooling.
This is an instructional video to show how to mount a System 3R Macro Chuck Adapter onto a Wire EDM machine. The Chuck demonstrated is a 3R-602.27-1 Macro Manual (lever activated) Chuck Adapter. This applies to our other chucks such as the Pneumatic Chuck Adapter 3R-602.10 to support fully automated production. The chuck repetition-accuracy is .002 mm or 0.00008”. Some questions answered in this video are recommended torque requirements for adapters and fixtures. In addition, the 3R-293.3 Super-vice for Rounds (aka- Lobster Claw) was discussed for locating a round workpiece center by picking-up the reference hole. The 3R-293.3 is designed for round workpieces of 8mm (.315”) to 90mm (3.54”) and weighing no more than 7 Kg (15.4 pounds).
