Only Death is Real (with Triptykon music)

GROTESQUE FORMS. All the instruments shown in this video are permanently exhibited at the Medieval Criminal Museum of San Gimignano, - Tuscany (Italy). The collection includes extremely rare pieces, going back to the XVI and XVII century, or historically accurate reconstructions of ancient originals that could no longer be found made in the XIX and XX century. Some are very well known, others are less famous but incredibly sophisticated and show how the human imagination knows no limits in searching for systems aimed at inflicting the most atrocious and cruel tortures.

Triptykon is a musical project of Thomas Gabriel Fischer, founding member of the pioneering heavy metal bands Hellhammer and Celtic Frost. Fischer announced his departure from Celtic Frost in May 2008 and shortly afterwards revealed his new project would be entitled Triptykon. The name of the band is a play on the word "triptych", because Triptykon is founding member Thomas Gabriel Fischer's third project after Hellhammer and Celtic Frost. The band logo is inspired by a writing pattern used in Weimar Republic.

Triptykon's music and lyrics reveal a group immersed in themes such as history, occultism, human disintegration, religious fanaticism, and nihilism. The songs bear witness to wastelands of eternal night. The transcending and mergence of seemingly distinct forms of imagination, a hallmark long prominent in Celtic Frost's efforts, is naturally also abundant within Triptykon's sphere of inspiration, which ranges across the works of Pieter Bruegel, Roland Villeneuve, H.R. Giger, HP Lovecraft, Emily Brontë, Hieronymus Bosch, John Martin, and far beyond.
