Lenovo ThinkPad T490 Review

Lisa Gade reviews the 2019 Lenovo ThinkPad T490, a 14” business laptop that’s a bit lighter and thinner thank the T480 it replaces. Lenovo has made the bezels smaller that previous generations, refreshed to Intel 8th gen Whiskey Lake quad core Ultrabook Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs and introduced optional NVIDIA MX 250 graphics. The T series is now available with the same excellent WQHD wide gamut display as the X1 Carbon, and there are touch and non-touch full HD display options as well. Thunderbolt 3, plenty of ports, optional 4G LTE and a fast NVMe SSD round out the features. The T490 is in Lenovo’s premium tier, but it’s more affordable than the ThinkPad X1 Carbon.
