Citroen Xsara rear calliper/handbrake replacement

Removing and replacing a defective rear calliper for a citroen xsara that features rear disks. Here the brake pads do the work of both the normal braking but also a cable operated lever operates the mechanism which clamps the pads to provide the handbrake.

I bought a new replacement calliper from ebay for £50, it seems like its a refurbished calliper that has sat in a warehouse for some time but it works very well. Its a fairly easy calliper to change, although its something of a nuisance that the centre console must be removed to access the nut which tensions the handbrake cable.

Its been a few years since i did the same job on a 306 but this is almost identical to the setup on the 306.
